Lighting photographs

This photograph demonstrates the use of three point lighting, this is where three lights are used. The main light is used to shine harsh light onto the subject to illuminate them, a back light is used to illuminate the subject completely, finally a fill light is used to fill in shadows on the face and balance out contrast.

These two photographs demonstrate a use of filters over the light used, this gives a different colouring to the image as the light is shining through a piece of coloured plastic. They are also an example of high key lighting, where the light is shone directly onto the subject to create high contrast and shadows.
